The Links, Incorporated hosted an Inaugural Reception on Sunday, January 18, to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. The purpose of this Reception was two-fold. Firstly, to celebrate the Inauguration of President Barack Obama and usher in an era where our collective dreams, hopes and partnerships would bring much-needed change. Secondly, to commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr. and his Day of Service by contributing to an organization dedicated to saving and enriching the lives of countless people around the world.
“Hundreds of Links members, Susan G. Komen for the Cure® supporters, and specially invited guests attended the event. Notable personalities included actor and Komen Ambassador Richard Roundtree, Senator Joseph I. Lieberman of Connecticut and Susan G. Komen for the Cure President Hala Moddelmog. Acclaimed gospel duo Mary Mary gave an exhilarating performance and the soulful Wes Biles Band provided entertainment throughout the night.
We would like to extend Special Thanks to the Inaugural Reception Sponsors and Contributors:
