In submitting the resolution Dr. Lee stated, “Today we mourn the loss of an incredible woman whose devoted life of service is one we should all aspire to emulate.”
The resolution states in part:
“This illustrious organization would not have existed without the vision, ideals and commitment of charter members like Link Frances Vashon Atkinson…Link Frances Vashon Atkinson, just as all of her other Link Sisters, was Chosen, Challenged, and Cherished: Chosen for Linkdom because of her wonderfully unique qualities and talents; Challenged in Linkdom to make a significantly personal contribution to human life in her community and her chapter; and forever Cherished in Linkdom for her commitment to loving friendship and faithful service…”
Link Frances Atkinson composed the lyrics of the National Song of The Links, Incorporated that reminds all members that “we are each a Link in friendship’s chain” and that once we remain “loyal to our creed / of doing good through work and play / together we’ll succeed”
Link Frances Vashon Atkinson truly stands as one of the supporting pillars of The Links, Incorporated and was honored as such by The Links, Incorporated. During a ceremony honoring Link Atkinson, she was presented as “the lady we should all aspire to emulate….Our link to the birth of The Links, Inc.”
“Link Frances Vashon Atkinson devoted her life to serving and promoting the ideals of The Links, Incorporated” Dr. Lee continued. “As we mourn her passing we know that her life will continue to inspire future generations of The Links, Incorporated.
